A little bit about me.

Born and raised on a farm in rural southeast Iowa, I took an interest in art at a young age. Not thinking of it as a career, I was in college for a year before realizing I could have future as an artist. I eventually graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration.

While in college, I started working at Engineering Animation Inc. in Ames, Iowa, where I began the transition from traditional illustration into digital art. I began to learn 3D for medical training and pharmaceutical animations before eventually moving into games. After a few years in games, I began a brief stint as a contractor for Iowa Public Television where I worked on a children's educational course before becoming a civilian contractor developing interactive training for the military. I worked on projects for the National Guard, Army, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as training in the private sector.

I currently work as a graphic designer for the Department of Agronomy at Iowa State University, where I produce online training and applied learning modules for postgraduate education. In my free time I enjoy working on personal projects often influenced by my interest in rural and historical subject matter.
